First Virtual PPG Network Meeting
In June 2020, The Newham Patient Participation Network Group held their first virtual meeting in response to Covid-19 restrictions.
The Newham PPG Network was developed as a result of PPG patient representatives from various GP practices across Newham, expressing a strong need for peer to peer support and learning. Within Newham, they wanted to develop a PPG led space to share, connect and collaborate with all PPGs from across the borough, to work on improving the quality of their PPGs. The Newham PPG Network meetings usually take place at various local community venues across the borough but for the time being, these are currently taking place online and are receiving a positive reception.
Cherry Salmon, Patient Participation Group Engagement Manager, said: “Thanks to everyone who attended the first virtual meeting and made it such a success. We discussed a range of issues and there was some very positive and useful ideas put forward.
“Meeting in person can sometimes be difficult for local people to attend, so moving them online has proved to be a positive and inclusive move.”
